# Member Management Overview

Browse, filter, group, and customize the list of everyone added to your organization in Mosaic.

## Overview

The Members table lives in Organization Settings, under People, and lists everyone who has been added to Mosaic, whether for resource planning, product access, or both. A recent update added quick filters by access type, a page-level filter and grouping system covering most member attributes, and full control over which columns the table shows and in what order. You can shape the table into the exact view your team needs without leaving the page.

## What You See

- **Invite to Mosaic.** For non-integration teams, opens the invite flow for adding a new member. [How to add members to Mosaic?](https://support.mosaicapp.com/en/articles/313-how-to-add-members-to-mosaic.md)

- **Summary tiles.** Five counts run across the top of the page: Standard Members, Contractors - Internal, Project Contractors, Project Guests, and Total Archived. Each tile carries its own checkbox.

- **Access Level and Status chips.** Shown above the table by default, with a funnel icon next to them that opens the full filter panel and a search icon that opens a name or email search box.

- **View controls.** A row of icons above the column headers expands or collapses every group at once, switches the list layout, sorts the table, and opens the Group By menu.

- **Edit Columns.** A button on the right of the toolbar opens the list of every column available on the table.

![The Settings > Members screen shows a member table with the Edit Columns menu open; a red arrow points to the Edit Columns button. - **Member rows.** Each row shows a reference number and name by default, plus whichever columns are turned on.

- **Member Attributes.** Depending on what attributes your team needs, customizable by the column selector.

## How To Filter the Member List

1. Select one or more summary tiles at the top of the page to narrow the list to that access type right away. Standard Members, Contractors - Internal, Project Contractors, and Project Guests mirror the Membership types described in [Mosaic Membership](https://support.mosaicapp.com/en/articles/161-membership.md); Total Archived shows everyone archived from the organization.

2. Select the funnel icon next to the Access Level and Status chips to open **Add Filters**.

3. Turn on any attribute you want to filter by. Confirmed options include Access Level, Status, Alternate Roles, Capacity, Chello Plan, Department, End Date, Location, Managers, Notifications, and Offices.

4. Set the values for each filter you add. Filters stack, so you can combine Access Level with Department, for example, to see only Work Planners in a specific department.

5. Select the search icon to search the list directly by a member's name or email address instead of, or alongside, your filters.

## How To Group and Sort Members

1. Select the group icon in the view controls row to open **Group By**.

2. Choose an attribute to group by. Confirmed options include Access Level, Alternate Role, Capacity, Chello Plan, Department, Discipline, Location, Manager, Membership, Notifications, and Office.

3. Grouping by Access Level breaks the table into rows like **Base Member - All Projects**, **Base Member - No Access**, **Work Planner - Can View All Projects**, **Work Planner - Can View Projects They Are a Member**, and **Work Planner - Can Edit All Projects**, each with its own member count.

4. Grouping by Discipline breaks the table into each discipline your organization uses, such as Architecture, Engineering, Structural, or Civil, each with its own member count.

5. Select the double arrows at the top of the grouped view to expand or collapse every group at once.

6. Use the sort icon to sort the current view, or select a column header to sort by that column.

## Exporting the List

## Tips

- **Layer filters for precision.** Combine Access Level, Department, and Location to find exactly the group of members you need instead of scanning the full list.

- **Group by Access Level before an access review.** It's the fastest way to see every Base Member with no project access, or every Work Planner with edit rights across all projects, in one place.

- **Turn on Start Date and End Date for staffing planning.** Recording when someone joins or is leaving makes it easier to plan their workload ahead of time.
