Why some Work Categories are not showing when entering Timesheets?

Sometimes you may notice that not all Work Categories are visible in the dropdown menu for your team. This is because the visibility of Work Categories depends on how time tracking is set up for each phase. To clarify, here are the rules:

When the phase is tracking time on phase level, dropdown always shows all standard Work Categories, which can be found in Org Settings > Standards > Work Categories.

When the phase is tracking time by work category, dropdown show either standards Work Category or Work Categories under the phase.

  • if no Work Categories have been created under the selected Phase, all standard Work Categories will show

  • if at least one Work Category exist in the phase, show all Work Categories under the phase.
